Open call:
We’ve been collaboratively working on a project with one of our community partners surrounding the deaf and hard of hearing community especially youth in Uganda, who are facing significant barriers in accessing information especially related to COVID-19. The deaf community are among the most stigmatized individuals in Ugandan society. The Office of Regional and International Community Engagement has launched an opportunity for UBC students to support community organizations and communicate with their target audiences on important issues through video production and info-graphics. If you are an individual passionate for community engagement, looking for opportunities to collaborate with community partners and further tap into your video editing and visual design skills, we are looking for you!
Open positions:
- Video editor (Must have access to video editing software and experience in video editing or video production.)
- Visual artist (Must have access to graphic design software and rapid research and graphic design skills.)
Time commitment:
This is a remote opportunity with a time commitment of 1-3 hours per week. We are looking for strong, independent, self-motivated individuals who are keen to be involved in a community project that speaks to global issues. The start date is ASAP and positions will be open until filled.
