About
Aatisha is a current MA student in the faculty of English Language and Literatures at the University of British Columbia (UBC). After graduating with a BA in Psychology at UBC, Aatisha was interested in critiquing the cognitive rhetoric of Psychology. Her research interests therefore lie in History and Philosophy of Science (HPS), sociocultural determinants of health, and Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR). In the past, Aatisha has worked with the Green String Network, a Nairobi-based mental health non-profit organization as a Research Assistant and has led her own Student Directed Seminar at UBC on the topic of “Anti-Colonial and Feminist Frameworks in Undergraduate Education.” Currently, alongside her role as the Programme Assistant at ORICE, she is also a Board Member at the James Black Gallery, a local Queer and Trans centered art gallery for emerging artists. She is passionate about art, research, and community engagement that results from the blend of both!
