Krystal Go (they/she) recently graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from UBC Vancouver. They have worked at ORICE for the past two years, starting as a student in the UBC HRC engagementship on Academic Freedom in Canadian Higher Education in 2021. They have worked as the Communications Assistant from 2022 to 2023, working on various student editorials and promotional campaigns. As the Gender+ in Research program assistant, they co-facilitated a 6-week workshop series, (De)Mystifying Gender+ in Research, that provided an introduction and foundation to gendered and intersectional research practices. They have also worked on re-launching the Gender+ Collective and building community with gender+ researchers, conducting scholarly features on UBC faculty that conduct gendered and intersectional research, and working on establishing a Scholarly Directory for gender+ UBC graduate and faculty researchers. For the summer of 2024, Krystal is now back as the Communications Assistant. They were born and raised on traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples. Outside of work and school, they like to play ultimate, go to concerts, and just get good food with friends!
