Academic Courses

ORICE academic courses integrate classroom instruction with a community-based experiential learning opportunity. This could involve either an immersive placement with a community partner (International Placement) or a remote community based research project.

Our academic courses allow students to earn course credit in a unique learning environment that fosters the application and critique of theory to practice. These courses are taught by UBC faculty in various subjects including history, economics, sociology, psychology etc. In addition to their coursework, students will have the opportunity to apply their disciplinary knowledge through the community based experiential learning component. They will collaborate with community partners to make a positive impact with their host organization.
